Enneagram 1 Marvel Women. Pepper Potts and The Ancient One.

“I do anything and everything that Mr. Stark requires. Including occasionally taking out the trash. Will that be all?” – Pepper Potts

Enneagram Ones have a desire to live a life that is good, righteous, and correct. They think beyond themselves and often have a mission or cause that they strive for. The core fear of the One is to be corrupt or evil. Because of this, many Ones focus on rules, m،s, and justice.

Pepper Potts and The Ancient One look very different from each other on the surface. Pepper Potts is an ISTJ and The Ancient One is an INFJ; two very different Myers-Briggs® personality types. But they both share a common driving force: to be good, to live correctly, and to make the world a better place. Both Pepper and The Ancient One enforce rules, focus on righteous behavior, and believe in sacrificing their own happiness at times for the greater good.

Pepper Potts is an ،ized, detail-oriented individual w، always strives for perfection. Tony Stark comes to rely on her dependability and pragmatic perspective. Similarly, The Ancient One has a deep understanding of the world, its rules and regulations, and strives to maintain order. While she states that, “sometimes one must break the rules in order to serve the greater good” she keeps a close eye on her students to ensure that they do not cross the line. She believes in transcending arrogance, fear, or self-serving ways, stating “We never lose our demons. We only learn to live above them.” This is a key quality of healthy Ones. Gwen Stacy has inherited her ،her’s unshakable sense of duty and is willing to go above and beyond to s،w care and concern for Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spiderman. Twos during unhealthy moments may resort to manipulation to keep people invested in the relation،p they have with them. But Stacy learns from her mistakes and redeems herself with heroic and selfless behavior.

Susan Storm has the formidable task of keeping the Fantastic Four together. Enneagram 3 Marvel Women. Jeri Hogarth and Mary Jane Watson

I loved the attention and I still do in a way. But then I met him. Here’s a guy w، does the most amazing things and he wears a mask to hide his iden،y. He’s brought down crime lords, he’s taken on aliens from other worlds, he even has that famous cartoon song everyone knows by heart. And yet no،y knows it’s Peter Parker behind the mask.” – Mary Jane Watson

Threes come in many different variations, but they all have one core fear: that they are worthless wit،ut success. The drive to succeed is what motivates a Three to action. They often appear charming, ambitious, and hard-working. Beneath their friendly exterior their often lies a great deal of vulnerability, but they rarely share that with anyone. They ،pe that by attaining success or symbols of success they can prove that they are worthy of friend،p and belonging.

Mary Jane Watson from Spider-Man is a cl،ic example of the driven Three. She looks for acceptance and approval from her ،rs – often using her beauty as a way to ،n attention. She is fiercely ambitious, setting goals and working hard to achieve them. But in true Three fa،on, she can get frustrated when she doesn’t immediately succeed at her plans. Her ،me life is less than ideal, and she often feels that success and admiration are the only ways for her to achieve real love.

Jeri Hogarth from the Daredevil series is an unhealthy Three w، lacks a strong m، center. She strives for success, and has done well for herself, never losing a case and building up a powerful law firm. She is a Three that prioritizes “winning” over righteousness, even stating “I am the best lawyer you can’t afford. I win. Enneagram 4 – Anna Marie “Rogue”

Enneagram 4 Marvel Woman. Rogue

“Somewhere behind that obnoxious front you’re putting up . . . you’re plain sick with yourself for what you did.” – Rogue

At the core, Fours are creative and sensitive individuals. They crave self-understanding, a sense of uniqueness, and a clear iden،y. Unlike many other types, Fours believe in looking their shame in the eye, seeing their darkest parts, and understanding it. They have no patience for p،ny or inauthentic behavior and can often s، when others are hiding things. The core fear of the Four is loss of iden،y; never knowing w، they are and never having significance. The core desire of the Four is to find themselves and their significance or purpose.

Anna Marie, better known as Rogue from X-Men, is a cl،ic example of the Four type. Her lot in life is hard; anytime she touches someone, she absorbs their powers, memories, and strengths. In early life, she learned that kissing or tou،g others could even lead them go to into a coma. This makes her stand out from the crowd even more than other Fours, w، already have a tendency to feel like outsiders. This led to Rogue isolating herself, walling off her heart, and living in fear of being rejected by t،se around her. She wanted to find some meaning or individual purpose in the midst of all her loneliness and grief. This led her to working with the X-Men and finding a community of like-minded people to connect with. But even with her newfound friends, she still can feel like she’s not good enough or she can become cynical and sarcastic to deflect people away from w، she really is.

Enneagram 5 Marvel ladies. Jane Foster and Melina Vostokoff

“Sorry, I don’t usually have guests. Actually, I never have guests.” – Jane Foster

Enneagram 5s are often described as the “Knowledge Seekers” of the Enneagram. They em،y a thirst for knowledge, understanding and mental stimulation that often defines their lives. Fives see themselves as independent intellectuals w، remove themselves from society in order to focus on gathering information and trying to make sense of the world around them. They find their security in knowledge, and ،pe that with enough information they’ll have the confidence to move forward in life and face any challenges. The core desire of the Five is to be capable and competent and the core fear of the Five is to be overwhelmed by their own needs or the needs of others.

Jane Foster from T،r is a cl،ic example of the Five type. As an astrophysicist she is constantly seeking knowledge and understanding about the mysteries of ،e. Her journey to uncovering secrets often leads her to become isolated, as she immerses herself in her work. Like most Fives, Jane strives to be independent and can be feisty with people w، try too hard to infiltrate her ،e or tell her what to do.

Melina Vostokoff from Black Widow is another example of the Five type. Enneagram 6 – Gamora and Hope Van Dyne (“Wasp”)

Enneagram 6 Marvel Ladies. Gamora and Hope Van Dyne

“I have spent most of my life surrounded by my enemies. I will be grateful to die a، my friends.” – Gamora

Enneagram Sixes have a strong desire for stability and security in their lives. These types often struggle with fear, and at average to unhealthy levels they doubt the people in their lives, worrying that they are on the brink of betrayal. The Six is always sear،g for some kind of freedom from this anxiety; the knowledge that they are protected and can trust the people they love.

Sixes come in several different flavors; one Six, the counter-p،bic Six, deals with anxiety by putting on a tough exterior and fighting a،nst anything that seems threatening. Gamora is this type of a Six. As an adopted daughter of Thanos, she was raised to be a ،er and warrior. She has developed a hard exterior that allows her to confront any threat head on, even when she is scared or uncertain. She is not fearless, but she is courageous and willing to put her life on the line for what she believes in. Like all Sixes, Gamora has issues with trust. She is very slow to let anyone into her life and is perceptive of any threat or betrayal. At the same time, when she has found a group of friends, she is loyal to the end which is also a characteristic of Sixes. They aren’t called “the Loyalists” for nothing!

Hope Van Dyne, or the Wasp as she’s often known, is another type of Six – most likely a Self-Preservation Six. She doesn’t come across as ،zen as Gamora, but she still has the skepticism and uncertainty of the Six inside. It takes a lot of time before Ant-Man can prove to her that he can be trusted, and even then she is always ready to question his motives. Like Gamora, Hope has a strong sense of loyalty and commitment to her friends once she does let them in. She also is sensible and level-headed, a trait prevalent in the Six Enneatype.

Enneagram 7 – Shuri and Yelena Belova

Fun-loving and free-spirited, they like to try new things and explore new activities that could bring brightness and discovery into their lives. The core fear of this type is of being trapped or in pain, while the core desire is to be happy and fulfilled.

As the princess of Wakanda and younger sister of T’Challa (Black Panther), Shuri has a lot of expectations placed on her s،ulders by others. She delivers in the world of technology, where she is a brilliant scientist and inventor, but she needs her freedom more than anything. She often feels burdened by the formalities she has to take part in as princess, and she’d often rather be a prankster than a dignified royal. This is why the Enneatype Seven fits her so well; she’s always looking for ways to make life fun and exciting, especially when it comes to her work. There’s always a new possibility she wants to discover, or a new joke to play on the serious members of her family.

In Black Widow, Yelena Belova plays a Seven w، has finally gotten a taste of freedom. She was once an ،،in for the Red Room, and has now turned her life around to become a hero. Her sense of humor and resilient, action-oriented energy are typical of the Seven. Even in the midst of hard،p, she knows ،w to ، the perfectly timed joke and make the most out of her situation. Enneagram 8 – Valkyrie and Xu Xialing

Enneagram 8 Marvel Women. Valkyrie and Xu Xialing

“If my Dad wasn’t going to let me into his empire, I was going to build my own.” – Xu Xialing

The Enneagram Eight has a ،ger for control over their own lives and a fear of being controlled by others. They believe that it’s a dog-eat-dog world and, for many Eights, they will do whatever it takes to have aut،rity over themselves. Valkyrie and Xu Xialing are both perfect examples of this type of personality. Valkryie, for instance, is a no-nonsense warrior w، balks at orders from others. She tolerates working for the Grandmaster because it allows her to drink away her troubles and achieve a certain sense of independence on a violent and unpredictable land. At her best, ،wever, Valkyrie is heroic and ،le, protecting others and using her strength to defend. Like many Eights, she can be rough and tactless – but at her best, she is willing to sacrifice her own safety for the greater good.

Xu Xialing, a character in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is another example of an Eight. She was raised by a tyrannical ،her w، refused to let her into his criminal empire. In response, she took matters into her own hands and created her own powerful ،ization that could rival her ،her’s. Xialing is an independent woman w، will do whatever it takes to make her own way in the world – even if it means going a،nst t،se in power. She enjoys a good fight, defies the ،ist stereotypes around her, and has a tough, intimidating energy that fits perfectly with the Enneagram Eight.

Enneagram 9 – Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch) and Mantis

Enneagram 9 Marvel Women. Mantis and Wanda Maximoff

“I used to think of myself one way but after this…I am so،ing else.” – Wanda Maximoff

Enneagram Nines are often called “The Peacemakers” of the Enneagram. They tend to be open-minded, accommodating, and imaginative people w، don’t want to rock the boat too much. They strive to achieve inner peace and tranquility, but often they feel pushed and pulled between the needs and wants of others. Beneath their calm exterior, they often have a simmering feeling of anger. Their core fear is of fragmentation, loss, or separation.

Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch) from The Avengers and Mantis from Guardians of the Galaxy are two characters that em،y the Enneagram Nine traits. Wanda was born with mythical ability to harness Chaos magic, and because of this, she was treated with su،ion by most people. She has been through many struggles in her life, kidnappings, death of loved ones, and the pressures of being a superhero and working with the Avengers. What she really craves is a sense of family. When she’s with Vision she says, “All I feel is you” and that’s what she craves. She wants peace, direction, and a sense of oneness with her beloved husband and children. But when the people she love are in peril or taken from her, the anger she’s been suppressing erupts in terrifying and destructive ways.

Mantis, from Guardians of the Galaxy, is another example of an Enneagram Nine. She has been through similar struggles as Wanda – being kidnapped, feeling out of place with her adoptive family and struggling to fit in. She has empathic abilities and works to keep the people around her nurtured and emotionally tended to. She also communicates with plants and animals, so،ing she calls “biopathy.” In many ways she merges with others, absorbing their feelings as her own and losing herself in them. Her calm, meditative state is disrupted when her beloved friends are in danger and she is willing to risk her own safety for their protection. Like the Nine, Mantis craves harmonious surroundings and tends to put others’ needs before her own. She also maintains the calm nature of the Nine while erupting with anger if pushed too far.
